Summary

of Position

As an Orthodontic Assistant - Smile Expert, you'll play a vital role in providing outstanding patient care and ensuring that every patient's experience is nothing short of exceptional. From preparing materials and instruments to performing clinical procedures, you'll be an essential member of our team, dedicated to making every patient's smile shine.

Responsibilities
  • Promote Orthodontist and Practice: Always promote our orthodontist and practice, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for our patients.
  • Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, escort them to the treatment area, and provide genuine care and concern throughout their visit.
  • Clinical Assistance: Assist the orthodontist in performing clinical procedures, including taking impressions, x-rays, bonding, etc., ensuring high‑quality care and patient comfort.
  • Patient

    Education:

    Communicate treatment instructions clearly and effectively to patients and their parents, providing demonstrations when necessary to ensure understanding.
  • Instrument Sterilization: Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of clinical areas and instruments, following OSHA guidelines and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Lab Work Management: Prepare and track all lab work to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Patient Follow‑Up: Place care calls to patients after difficult appointments and update patient health history and information as needed.

    Collaboration:

    Actively participate in team meetings, demonstrating teamwork and assisting in other areas of the office when necessary.
  • Marketing

    Activities:

    Participate in marketing activities to promote the health and growth of the practice, aligning with our mission of spreading positivity and creating beautiful smiles.
Skills/Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a cohesive team environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and follow‑up on tasks effectively.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • State‑approved clinical assisting and x‑ray/imaging licensure, CPR certification, and Coronal Polish and Sealant certification required (depending on state requirement).
  • High school diploma, plus 1 to 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Dental experience and familiarity with practice software programs necessary.
