You do not instruct. You inspire. The most powerful way to support a six‑year‑old at 99% of their target is to not accept it as complete. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this role is not for you. If it excites you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.
At Alpha, students in grades K‑3 complete their academic work through AI‑driven applications two hours daily. As a Guide, you oversee a single cohort band—K‑1 or 2‑3—customizing your approach, rhythm, and sessions. No traditional lessons. No printed exercises.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills sessions for groups of 10‑15 K‑3 students covering public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other enduring competencies.
- Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching sessions that maintain student progress toward weekly application targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics and Alpha’s motivational systems.
- Delivering the Test2
Pass for each life skill and working with students who do not pass until mastery is achieved. - Engaging kindergarteners through songs, narratives, physical activity, and humor while maintaining real, quantifiable expectations for second and third graders.
- Serving as the welcoming adult students are excited to see at arrival and the adult who will not allow them to settle for less.
- Delivering lectures at the board; academic content is embedded in the applications, not delivered by you.
- Developing curriculum independently;
Alpha supplies the framework and you execute it. - Monitoring children at workstations; motivation in this environment is engaged, individualized, and continuous.
- Reducing a weekly target to make it achievable; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the goal.
- Evaluating assignments, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling family communications;
Campus Leads manage family‑facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model.
- Willing to work on‑site at one of the Alpha campuses listed above (relocation support provided).
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Minimum three years of direct experience working with children ages four to nine (early‑elementary instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp leadership, or youth program management).
- Concrete example of motivating a young child toward a challenging goal (objective, actions, and result).
- Available to participate in a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus.
- Comfortable allowing AI to manage instructional delivery while you concentrate on motivation and life‑skills development.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
- Background in youth sports coaching, children’s theater, camp leadership, Montessori/progressive early childhood education, or after‑school programs where you held direct accountability for motivating young children toward defined objectives.
- Personal record of significant achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), demonstrating that holding others to rigorous standards is habitual, not performative.
- Instinctive performer’s energy with young children—capable of commanding a room of kindergarteners through vocal presence, playfulness, and physicality.
- Proven ability to transform hesitant or reluctant young children into engaged, confident contributors.
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) long‑term position. Compensation is $100,000 USD per year ($50 USD per hour), paid weekly. The position requires an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
