Summary of PositionCarrollton Public Schools is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and student-centered educator to serve in a split teaching assignment providing instruction in both K-8 Physical Education and Computer Technology
. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction that promotes students' physical wellness, digital literacy, problem‑solving skills, and overall academic success. The successful candidate will create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment while utilizing research-based instructional practices aligned with the Michigan Academic Standards and the Michigan Standards for Health and Physical Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in both Physical Education and Computer Technology.
- Develop and maintain daily lesson plans aligned with Michigan Academic Standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of individual students.
- Integrate technology into instruction to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Foster student creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and responsible digital citizenship.
- Teach age‑appropriate computer skills including keyboarding, digital literacy, internet safety, productivity software, coding concepts, and educational technology applications.
- Design and implement physical education lessons that promote lifelong fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Utilize instructional strategies that promote cooperative learning and student engagement.
- Establish and maintain effective classroom and gymnasium management procedures.
- Supervise students during instructional periods, transitions, and other assigned duties.
- Maintain a safe learning environment in both the classroom and physical education settings.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high behavioral and academic expectations.
- Implement behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and implement accommodations when appropriate.
- Make referrals to appropriate support services when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with partner school staff, families, and administrators to support student success.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Attend parent‑teacher conferences, staff meetings, professional development, and district in‑service activities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in all interactions.
- Support school activities, events, and extracurricular programs as appropriate.
- Maintain classroom technology, computer equipment, instructional materials, and physical education equipment.
- Monitor equipment for safety and report repair or replacement needs.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and student safety procedures.
- Demonstrate competency in educational technology and instructional software.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning to remain current with instructional practices and educational technology.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, parent, and staff information.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude with students, families, staff, and community members.
- Participate as an active member of the school team.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Shared Services or Superintendent.
Qualifications- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate.
- Valid Michigan Physical Education endorsement appropriate for the assignment.
