Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Instructional Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD
  • $100,000 annual salary paid weekly, with full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • On-site position at one of Alpha's campuses:
    Phoenix, AZ;
    Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK;
    Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
  • 40-hour workweek, 100% of time spent in classroom with K-2 students

You've dedicated years to becoming proficient in structured literacy. Whether through Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction, you've developed the ability to identify a student's miscue and pinpoint the exact phonemic skill to address. You can craft a phonics lesson without reliance on scripted materials. That level of expertise is expected. It's not what sets you apart.

What sets you apart is your ability to make six-year-olds excited when you enter the room. At Alpha, this position is fundamentally about being a Guide: a dynamic, engaging presence that young students genuinely enjoy learning with. Your structured-literacy credentials open the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 classroom during a 20-minute workshop is what earns you the role. If you don't naturally embody "dynamic, engaging presence," this position isn't the right fit.

Alpha has redesigned how instruction works. Students progress through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications—no traditional lectures, textbooks, or pacing calendars. Your position represents the one area where human expertise cannot be replaced. You'll create small-group reading workshops informed by live student performance metrics, and you'll facilitate motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students reach their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification).

Your initial months focus on establishing rapport and credibility. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" survey results (target 90%+) directly measure your success. Once you've established yourself, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance insights to modify subsequent instruction, communicating fluency improvements and decoding progress to parents, and contributing to how Alpha's K-2 reading methodology develops in tandem with adaptive technology.

As Alpha opens additional campuses, your work becomes the template for reading instruction across the network.

Before extending an offer, we'll ask you to submit a brief video presenting an engaging story for young children, and you'll participate in a full-day campus visit working directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children will disqualify candidates regardless of credential strength. This is intentional. Apply today.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student performance data
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly adaptive-app targets, applying Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
  • Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations to monitor progress and refine upcoming instruction
  • Analyzing AI-generated performance metrics from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not only during pre-planning
  • Serving as the approachable, dynamic adult presence your K-2 students are excited to work with each day
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implementing a published reading curriculum, scripted program, or district pacing calendar; you'll design lessons independently based on student data
  • Delivering lectures to whole classrooms; all instruction occurs in targeted, small groups while students complete academic subjects through adaptive applications
  • Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach, or district-level specialist; you'll be in the classroom with students daily
  • Managing a traditional…
