40 hours per week, entirely classroom-based with K-2 learners

You have invested years in mastering structured literacy. Whether it's Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction, you can identify a student's miscue and pinpoint the exact phonemic gap to address. You design phonics instruction independently, without reliance on a scripted curriculum. That's the baseline. It isn't what sets you apart.

What sets you apart is that six-year-olds are excited to see you. At Alpha, this position is first and foremost a Guide: a dynamic, engaging presence that students genuinely want to work with. Your structured-literacy credentials open the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 classroom during a 20-minute workshop is what earns you the offer. Alpha has redefined conventional instruction. Students complete academic content individually through AI-adaptive applications — no traditional lectures, no textbooks, no predetermined pacing. Your position represents the one area where human expertise is irreplaceable. You build small-group reading workshops using live student performance data, and you facilitate motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students achieve their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification).

Your initial months focus on earning trust and engagement. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" survey results (targeting 90%+) directly measure your impact. As you establish credibility, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance reports to refine subsequent instruction, communicating fluency progress and decoding milestones to families, and influencing how Alpha's K-2 reading model evolves in tandem with adaptive technology.

As Alpha scales to additional campuses, the systems you develop become the blueprint for reading instruction across the network.

Before an offer is extended, you will submit a brief video presenting an engaging story for young children, and you will complete a full-day on-campus experience working directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children will disqualify you, regardless of credential strength. This is intentional.

• Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student data
• Facilitating daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students meet their weekly adaptive-app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
• Conducting and evaluating running records, fluency assessments, and decoding measures to monitor progress and refine instruction for upcoming sessions
• Analyzing AI-generated performance metrics from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not solely during advance planning
• Serving as the approachable, energetic adult your K-2 students are excited to see each day

• Implementing a commercially published reading curriculum, scripted lesson sequence, or district-mandated pacing guide; you create your own lessons using student data
• Delivering whole-class lectures; all teaching occurs in small, targeted groups while students engage with academic subjects through adaptive apps
• Functioning as a reading consultant, instructional coach for other educators, or district-level specialist; your work is classroom-based with students daily
