Mad Science is the world’s leading provider of fun science programs for elementary-aged children. For over 40 years, we have delivered unique, hands‑on science experiences for children through after‑school programs, birthday parties, workshops, special events, and summer camps. We have been serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex for over 20 years and continue to innovate with programs that are as entertaining as they are educational.

• Teaching, tutoring, coaching, performing and/or camp experience with groups of elementary‑aged kids – volunteer or job related.
• Fun‑loving, energetic, engaging, congenial personality; a charismatic presence like “Bill Nye the Science Guy” or Mr./Ms. Wizard.
• Theatre, drama, arts or other performance experience is helpful.
• Science major not required, but a love of and interest in science and the ability to inspire kids is mandatory.
• Flexibility and availability: at least three weekdays between 2 pm and 5 pm.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must have a reliable vehicle for transporting equipment and traveling within the county (up to 25 miles one way).
• Minimum of 1 semester commitment.

• Transport equipment and supplies to programs and client sites.
• Lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of science demonstrations and labs.
• Travel up to 25 miles one way as needed.

• Completed background check.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, energetic, and reliable team player.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• First Aid certification (preferred).
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Childcare experience (1 year preferred).

Our programs are compensated at approximately $30 per hour for a one‑hour school program and $45 per hour for birthday parties or special events. Birthday parties typically feature a gratuity from the client, though this is not guaranteed.

Multiple locations throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Part‑time position. Must be available at least three weekdays between 2:30 PM and 5 PM.
