Head of Estimating — Mechanical Contractor

West Georgia | On-site

Our client is a fast‑growing, full‑service mechanical contractor in West Georgia with a long‑standing reputation for quality craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and client trust. As they continue to expand into high‑profile markets, they are seeking a Head of Estimating to elevate systems, processes, and people to the next level.

• Lead, build, and manage the estimating department with strategy, structure, and accountability.
• Drive estimating excellence across the full project lifecycle: conceptual through GMP, negotiated, and design‑build contracts.
• Target and win high‑growth sectors including datacenters, healthcare, institutional, and industrial.
• Refine and implement processes, procedures, and tools to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the team, instilling best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, project management, and executive leadership to align estimates with field realities, budgets, and profitability.
• Assess risk, analyze cost drivers, and leverage data to improve forecasting and competitiveness.
• Advance the adoption of technology: estimating platforms, BIM, VDC, and digital takeoffs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) required; advanced credentials (ASPE, AACE, etc.).
• 10+ years of estimating experience in mechanical/HVAC/plumbing, particularly design‑build.
• Track record leading large, multi‑million‑dollar projects in healthcare, data centers.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls).
• Experience introducing or improving estimating systems/procedures.
• Proven ability to build, mentor, and inspire a team.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, with strong commercial acumen.
• Familiarity with LEAN, value engineering, institutional contracting, and advanced estimating software a plus.

• Base salary: $100,000—$130,000 depending on experience.
