Foreman Plumbing and Piping

This position requires a manufacturing engineer capable of working independently and as a team on new commercial vehicle clean air product launches. The position will be based out of North America(NA) and will be the liaison between the corporate Manufacturing Engineering & Technology(MET) final assembly core competency team (CCT) and the regional NA Clean Air(CA) facilities that will be launching the new product.

This position will be responsible for the process and equipment development of new commercial vehicle clean air products.

• Participate in new program launches or continuous improvement activities within NACA.
• Lead the development of process, equipment and tooling for new commercial vehicle clean air products.
• Technical support for NA Manufacturing Engineering & Technology(MET) CVS final assembly team.
• Support for development and feasibility reviews regarding:
• Design of product
• Design of equipment, tooling and manufacturing process
• Weld process development
• Setting up launch processes, fixtures and equipment within regional NACA facilities.
• Optimize process and fixtures according to capital and tooling investment.
• Support first startup of production.
• Troubleshoot and support production issues
• Support process optimization and standardization effort in close collaboration with MET CCT team.
• Identify and implement manufacturing process improvement (performance, scrap, availability).
• Support equipment and fixture runoff at supplier or NA Tenneco facilities
• Understand and develop:
• Robot, leak testing, manual welding equipment.
• Error proofing methods
• Gages
• General Metal fabrication.

• 5 years of related manufacturing engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
• Experience developing a new process for a new product, including experience with process flow and PFMEA.
• Experience working with equipment and tooling suppliers, creating statement of work, awarding suppliers and following progress through launch.
• Proficiency with PC applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and flow charting software.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process development, fixture design, tooling/gage design, and equipment design.
• Controls and automation knowledge. Hands on expertise is a plus.
• Hands on technical knowledge of after treatment devices, mufflers and pipe bending is a plus
• Ability to travel in support of job function (NACA facilities, suppliers etc.) Some International travel required.
