Description Aperture is looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. This is an opportunity to learn in a collaborative environment on projects that impact our communities in an environment committed to technical quality and growth. We are looking for someone with the ability to provide technical and field support on complex projects who has experience with, soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design is a plus.
JOB SUMMARY:
As an Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting field and office engineering activities under the supervision of a licensed engineer. Responsibilities include field exploration, sampling, inspections, analysis, and technical support. You will assist with tasks, small projects, and the preparation of reports and calculations while working closely with senior staff. The role involves both independent and team-based work, with professional interaction with peers and client representatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Conduct field exploration, sampling, inspections, and analyses under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
Provide technical and non-technical field and office support as assigned
Complete tasks and small projects with guidance from senior technical staff
Assist in preparing technical reports and engineering calculations for complex projects, subject to review
Perform data analysis and documentation related to field and office activities
Collaborate effectively with peers and interact professionally with client representatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study. Knowledge in geotechnical engineering and foundation design courses preferred;
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas;
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Self-directed and able to work without supervision; and Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
Maintains positive internal and external customer service relationships; and Prepared all industry related report drafts with a degree of timeliness and accuracy sufficient to meet approval by the Engineer or Architect of record.
Physical Requirements This position requires that you have the physical ability to perform all of the following functions:
Climb ladders, walk on roofs, enter and work in confined spaces, work outdoors in hot or cold weather, lift up to 50 pounds, use necessary safety equipment perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of time Employee may be required to travel for business purposes.
