DIVISION CONTROLLER | WEST TECHS CHILL WATER SPECIALIST

As the Division Controller for West Techs, you will serve as the financial anchor for our division, reporting directly to the Executive Controller/CFO. This is a high-impact leadership role based at our Dallas, TX office and supports a service, project, and maintenance-driven business with multiple cost centers and labor-intensive job costing. This role is designed for a self-motivated professional who thrives on autonomy and cross‑functional collaboration.

You will immediately manage two direct reports, serving as the vital link between divisional operations and the executive office. This role carries real growth potential as the company scales; there is a clear path toward leading a broader finance team. Team members are expected to grow alongside you, continuously expanding their skills and taking on greater responsibility. Through regular feedback, clear expectations, and personalized development plans, you will invest in your team while building the foundation for a larger, high-performing finance function.

While this is an on‑site position, some travel will be required to support divisional needs and ensure the financial integrity of our rapidly expanding company.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive

Collaboration:

Partner closely with the executive office to deliver accurate divisional financial results and ensure alignment with company-wide fiscal goals.

Financial Leadership & Reporting: Direct the preparation of comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing clear insights into divisional performance.

Team Management: Lead and mentor two direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development within the accounting team.

Accounting Operations: Oversee the full accounting cycle, with particular emphasis on accurate, real-time job costing, labor efficiency tracking, margin analysis including direct supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management in accordance with GAAP.

Controls & Compliance: Architect and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to protect assets and streamline workflows.

Tax & Audit Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for annual audits and ensure the division remains in full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Strategic Planning: Partner with the Division President, sales and operations teams to drive the budgeting and forecasting process, delivering variance analysis that helps leadership make data‑driven operational decisions.

Systems & Process Ownership: Own or materially support ERP workflows related to job costing, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and month-end close. Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes as the division scales.

EXPERIENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional

Experience:

3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven ability to work effectively within a multi‑entity structure.

Leadership Track Record: Experience leading, mentoring, or developing team members.

Technical Credentials: Active CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred.

Systems Expertise: Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, Quick Books Online, or Sage Intacct).

Analytical Rigor: A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable strategies for both divisional and executive stakeholders.

Communication & Interpersonal

Skills:

Exceptional ability to communicate financial results to non‑financial stakeholders and build collaborative relationships with the executive leadership team.
