Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor / Junior Underwriter to support loans in the critical stages between final approval and closing. This role requires a strong understanding of mortgage guidelines and the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve loan issues to ensure timely closings.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze loan files between final approval and closing to ensure compliance and completeness.
- Calculate borrower income and evaluate assets, including large deposits and bank statements.
- Review and assess appraisal reports for eligibility and accuracy.
- Work directly with underwriters to identify and resolve loan conditions or issues.
- Interpret and apply mortgage guidelines across various loan products.
- Perform complex data and document validation.
- Troubleshoot third‑party orders (title, appraisal, hazard insurance, flood certification, credit, etc.).
- Evaluate loan applications for compliance with product and investor guidelines.
- Handle escalated or complex borrower and partner communications via phone, email, or chat.
- Complete appraisal eligibility and review tasks.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support loan processing and closing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of mortgage loan processing experience.
- Strong experience with Conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo loans.
- Income calculation and analysis.
- Asset review and documentation.
- Reviewing appraisals.
- Credit and underwriting basics.
- Experience working with bank statements and large deposits, loan applications (1003), and non-delegated loans.
- Ability to analyze complex loan scenarios and resolve issues independently.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage guidelines and compliance requirements.

- Ability to manage complex files and meet deadlines.
Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00-$28.00 per hour. Benefits are subject to eligibility and may include:
