Works under the supervision of the procedural /operating room area director or Manager to facilitate the safe and effective operation, control, maintenance of the hyperbaric chambers and supporting components . Designated Safety Coordinator for the facility hyperbaric program, provides safety related education, incorporating any new safety procedures into practice.

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

• Ensures facility compliance with NFPA 99 related to Hyperbaric Facility regulations.
• Sets up equipment needed to deliver hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
• Ensures the cleaning, maintenance and preparation of hyperbaric chambers.
• Maintains supplies needed to deliver hyperbaric oxygen treatment in accordance with Carrollton Regional Medical Center policies and procedures and regulatory standards.
• Maintains applicable records and files related to hyperbaric chamber maintenance and safety.
• Operates hyperbaric chamber and delivers hyperbaric treatment for patients maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Orientation or cross training of staff members to maintain adequate staff and safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
• Develops/reviews policies and procedures related to hyperbaric oxygen.
• Follows infection control policies, recommendation practices, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements to assure a safe work environment for self, coworkers, and patients.
