How You’ll Contribute
  • Provide activity groups
  • Document the patient’s response to groups and update daily/weekly progress status as appropriate
  • Provide and document alternate interventions when patients miss groups
  • Provide groups according to the protocol set forth by the Activity Therapist, communicating and working with the patient to achieve the greatest benefit and resolution
  • Maintain constant communication with the Activity Therapist when a patient is not responding to the treatments
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the patient’s program
  • Understand age differences and corresponding developmental needs
  • Provide activities suitable to the patient’s needs and offer a variety of stimuli in accordance with the treatment plan, with approval of AT or AT lead
  • Contribute to maintaining a quality program to satisfy therapeutic needs of the patient
  • Offer direction and education to maintain clear communication of expectations
  • Provide quality programming to support the objectives of the patient and their needs
  • Contribute to treatment planning with feedback to nursing and program staff to achieve therapeutic interventions with supervision from AT or AT Lead
What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a High School Diploma/GED (required) and a Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or an equivalent preferred. Additional requirements include:

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred
  • CPR and De‑escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire
