Job Summary

The Regional Regulatory Compliance Director leads enterprise‑wide regulatory compliance, clinical risk management, and quality improvement initiatives across all care settings within Cantex Continuing Care Network (CCCN). This senior leadership role ensures adherence to federal and state regulations, CMS requirements, accreditation standards, and internal quality benchmarks across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), post‑acute care centers, and affiliated service lines. This position is responsible for developing and implementing system‑wide strategies that reduce clinical risk, improve patient safety, strengthen survey readiness, and elevate overall care quality.

The Regional Regulatory Compliance Director partners closely with executive leadership to promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement while aligning compliance operations with organizational goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Active RN license required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or clinical risk management within post‑acute, long‑term care, or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environments
  • CPHRM or CPHQ certification strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise interpreting and applying CMS, state DOH, and federal healthcare regulations
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
Essential Functions
  • Oversee regulatory compliance strategy across all CCCN facilities and care settings
  • Ensure adherence to CMS regulations, state and federal laws, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, state DOH)
  • Serve as primary liaison for regulatory agencies during surveys, audits, and investigations
  • Direct reporting and documentation of Preventable Adverse Events and other required submissions
  • Prepare internal and external compliance performance reports for executive leadership and the Board
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive Clinical Risk Management Program
  • Analyze clinical risk trends using incident reports, root cause analyses, and data dashboards
  • Collaborate with legal and insurance teams to mitigate liability and reduce organizational exposure
  • Develop system‑wide policies and training programs on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and adverse event prevention
  • Respond to patient‑related incidents and complaints; support corrective action planning
  • Lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and integrate it with compliance and risk frameworks
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and benchmarks for clinical quality, safety, and regulatory performance
  • Conduct facility audits and site visits to assess compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Implement evidence‑based practices to improve care outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Guide organizational participation in incentive‑based quality programs (e.g., QIPP)
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to embed compliance into daily operations
  • Mentor and support compliance, quality, and risk teams across the network
  • Lead onboarding, training, and continuing education for facility leadership and clinical staff
  • Present compliance and risk performance data to senior executives and recommend strategic improvements
