POSITION SUMMARY
Liquid Stack is seeking a Field Services Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, scaling environment where products are advanced, customers are global, and learning is continuous. This role supports the installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Liquid Stack’s liquid cooling systems used in mission-critical data center environments. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position ideal for someone who enjoys field work, problem-solving, and representing the company professionally at customer sites while continuing to build deeper technical expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Service and Technical Support
- Install, start up, commission, maintain, and repair Liquid Stack cooling systems at customer sites
- Perform entry to intermediate troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems
- Diagnose system issues, complete repairs, and escalate complex problems when needed
- Support on-site testing, inspections, and system verification
- Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and follow-up records
Customer Interaction and Professional Representation
- Serve as a professional on-site representative of Liquid Stack
- Communicate clearly with customers during service visits and startup activities
- Provide basic operational guidance and system explanations to customers
- Build strong customer relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and follow-through
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to resolve field issues
- Share field feedback to improve product design, serviceability, and documentation
- Support training, knowledge sharing, and process improvements as the service organization scales
- Adapt quickly to evolving products, tools, and procedures in a fast-paced environment
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- 2+ years of HVAC, HVAC-R, chiller, mechanical, industrial, or field service experience
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, startups, and system maintenance
- High school diploma or GED required
- Trade school, technical school, military training, or equivalent experience strongly valued
- Approximately 50% travel, primarily domestic with occasional international opportunities
- Work performed at customer data centers, mechanical rooms, and industrial environments
- Valid driver’s license and passport required
Preferred:
- Technical school or relevant military training (HVAC/R or related discipline).
- Experience in mission-critical or data center environments.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
