Software Release Coordinator

Position Summary

The Software Release Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the release of software products. This role involves close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely and high-quality software releases. The coordinator will maintain detailed documentation, manage risks, and continuously improve the release processes. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential to facilitate smooth releases and address any issues that arise.

• Coordinate and manage releases: plan, schedule, and oversee the release of software products, coordinate testing/staged data for QA and UAT cycles, and coordinate simultaneous release phases.
• Collaborate with teams: work with development teams and other departments to document estimated completion dates, coordinate QA and UAT handoffs, and negotiate with Technical Product Managers to achieve timely UAT sign-off.
• Maintain documentation: keep detailed records of release processes, track release metrics, generate sprint capacity and velocity related reports.
• Ensure quality: make sure all software updates and releases meet required quality standards.
• Risk management:
  
  identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases.
• Communication: facilitate communication between different teams and stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement: continuously improve the release process to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Support during releases: provide support during release activities and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Management/Governance: ensure items assigned to each phase gate reach completion, update data appropriately, gauge progress, notify leadership of risks, schedule sprint planning meetings, complete ADO Dev Ops data updates, and distribute proactive notifications to ensure each phase starts and ends by the established date.

• Education:
  
  relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience:
  
  experience with release management tools and solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Skills:
  
  excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, familiarity with release management, configuration management, and continuous integration/ delivery processes.
