Compensation: $18.58 - $23.22 / hour
DescriptionThe Material Planner is directly responsible for ensuring the Customer Service Technician has a stock of needed parts and components for service appointments supporting customers. Additionally, the Material Planner will ensure the Carrollton Warehouse maintains an accurate inventory, operating within cost restraints and supplier’s lead time. The Material Planner will process incoming parts and supplies orders from field, partners, and customers within an assigned geographical region.
Key Responsibilities- Process incoming parts and supply orders for field, partners, and customers. Review, schedule, and revise shipment plans to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer requirements.
- Verifies system perpetual inventory reports against physical count of inventory, research issues, and correct variances.
- Issue purchase orders to meet customer requirements, define safety stock levels, internal sub‑component build and any rework requirements. Release management for field, partner, and customer orders. May engage in emergency sourcing and procurement with established vendors.
- Ensure the warehouse and field inventory levels are accurate. May generate purchase orders to fulfil stocking requirements.
- Monitors Defective Material Reports (bad out of box or early life failures) through to closure.
- Liaison regularly with the purchasing department to maintain order promise dates, investigate shipment issues with various shipping vendors (inbound & outbound) to expedite flow of materials and meet customer expectations.
- May support other regions in identical above tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
Associates Degree with exposure to related field
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within an inventory control function.
- 2-3 years of supply chain or inventory control experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to translate knowledge into actionable direction
- Problem solving and analytical thinking – ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach that is clear, rational, and coherent.
