The Senior Practice Manager is responsible for independently managing and coordinating complex delivery of care within a large, multi‑physician primary care, specialty, or multi‑disciplinary practice. This position supervises front‑desk, business‑transaction, clinical support, compliance, safety and customer‑service functions, and maximizes revenue through efficient, effective, and compliant procedures. Working collaboratively with clinic medical staff and system‑wide administrative and medical staff, the manager fosters a culture of compassion, integrity, innovative thinking, and leadership excellence.

Responsibilities

The manager oversees daily work activities of the unit/department staff, ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence, and efficiency while supporting strategic and operational objectives. Responsibilities include staff guidance, scheduling, staffing decisions, coaching and counseling employees, developing policies and procedures, and implementing training and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent education (e.g., GED, homeschooling equivalency, partial or full post‑secondary education).
Experience
  • Five years of clinical healthcare experience, at least two in a managerial role; or less experience may be considered if the applicant is an existing Houston Methodist employee with performance demonstrating progressive leadership abilities.
Licenses and Certifications

Preferred:
Practice Management Certification.
