Summary
Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Production Team Leader oversees all aspects of textile and hard goods production. Primary duties include meeting production quotas, researching and familiarizing with incoming items and brands, pricing donated goods, and training and developing staff.
Essential Functions/DutiesProvide inter‑departmental training as appropriate.
Qualifications/Competencies- Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles.
- Knowledge of textile, hard goods, and new goods articles as related to quality and classification.
- Knowledge of production, inventory, and quality control and ability to compile and analyze data for reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction and or direction from supervisor.
- Maintain a proper and professional attitude when dealing with customers, clients, and co‑workers.
- Ability to use Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- High school education or equivalent is required. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Preference for previous retail and/or stock handling experience; preference for experience working with people who have disabilities and/or prior Goodwill experience.
- Math ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. - Computer skills:
Beginner knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to conduct research on items via the Internet. - Supervisory responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities but no subordinate supervisors.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Vision:
Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. - Standing and sitting for long periods of time.
- Exposure to weather, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
- Work environment typically loud; examples include metal fabrication and large earth‑moving equipment.
- Language:
Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively before groups. - Reasoning:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; ability to solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
