Summary

SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for operating machines, such as those to blend ingredients into compounds for processing by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, fabricate, support, and assist maintenance employees with repairs to production floor equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Loads ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or hand trucks, or directs other workers in performing this task.
  • Starts machine and adjusts valves to admit steam or cooling fluids to steam jacket or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixture.
  • Operates machine and monitors assembly machine controls.
  • Ensure assembly machines are functioning properly and make required adjustments if the equipment malfunctions.
  • Inspect products for measurement and quality and separate defective products.
  • Maintain a safe and clean production area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
