The Lead Manufacturing Technician works closely with the Production Manager to prioritize compounding and filling operations and ensure that they are accomplished on time, according to schedule. Communicates with warehousing personnel on materials and equipment needed to accomplish assigned tasks. Supervises personnel performing job tasks.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Coordinates work schedules for solvent process and packaging operations and assigns technicians to specific tasks where needed. Adjusts schedules as needed and makes personnel changes accordingly
  • Handles equipment integrity issues and works closely with maintenance personnel
  • Consults with the Production Manager on overtime scheduling, disciplinary actions, training, and other supervisory issues. Advises on personnel issues related to cross training.
  • Attends Production Scheduling meetings and processes daily manpower charts plotting daily workload, as needed
  • Keeps leadership informed of work status and completes related reports in a timely manner
  • Ensures all paperwork is correct from the start of the filling operation to the end
  • Prepares documentation for lab review, to include all samples and particle counts according to sample plans
  • Maintains job associated certifications for all required solvents area tasks and additional tasks as determined by the supervisor
  • Performs solvent process, packaging and material handler tasks as needed
  • Supervises personnel to ensure proper and safe completion of all manufacturing tasks and other assigned activities such as training, housekeeping, safety inspections, etc.
  • Supports and participates in Environmental, Safety and Health and quality department programs and requirements
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Technician is required. 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
  • Qualified in solvent production tasks.
  • Able to troubleshoot process systems
  • Able to fill in for the Production Manager if needed
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and as a team
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, bend, climb and reach
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
  • Must have a valid Texas drivers' license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work varied shifts as required.
