Job Description /Responsibilities

As a Sanitation Technician Lead, you'll help coordinate daily sanitation activities across our manufacturing facility to ensure equipment, machinery, buildings, and production areas meet our sanitation and food safety standards. You'll provide hands‑on guidance to the sanitation team, help execute sanitation procedures, monitor GMPs and housekeeping, and support sanitation tracking and validation activities. This role is a great fit for someone with sanitation or food and beverage manufacturing experience who can lead by example, solve problems, and help maintain a safe and sanitary production environment.

What

You'll Do
  • Help coordinate and lead daily sanitation activities, including cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, machinery, parts, buildings, and other designated areas.
  • Provide day‑to‑day direction, training, and support to sanitation team members on cleaning procedures, equipment use, safety, GMPs, and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor sanitation activities, GMPs, housekeeping, and overall plant conditions to ensure company and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
  • Complete and maintain sanitation documentation, tracking, inspections, and validation activities while communicating issues or concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Identify sanitation or equipment concerns, assist with problem solving and corrective actions, and support continuous improvement of sanitation processes and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements Required
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sanitation, janitorial, food and beverage manufacturing, production, or a related environment.
  • Previous experience providing direction, training, or day‑to‑day leadership to employees in a sanitation, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation practices, GMPs, safety procedures, and the proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Preferred
  • Experience in food, beverage, alcohol beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with sanitation programs, sanitation validation, environmental or quality inspections, and sanitation documentation.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, or other continuous improvement practices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and safely handle cleaning equipment, tools, chemicals, and production parts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various positions throughout a shift.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wet and humid conditions, loud noise, cleaning chemicals, moving equipment, and varying temperatures while wearing required PPE.
