The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is an integral member of Metrocrest Services’ executive leadership team and will collaboratively articulate, implement, and operationalize the strategic vision, mission, and goals of the organization. The COO directs key functions of the organization including Client Programs, Senior Programs, and Operations, and they are a primary strategic and management partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Chief Operating Officer will embrace and champion our Core Values and will lead with a Servant’s Heart. They are humble, hungry, and smart, and they consistently demonstrate leadership of self and others. The COO is expected to have a growth-mindset and the desire and ability to develop others.
The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the CEO, provides leadership and direction to the Program Directors, Operational Directors and in some cases, functional managers, along with indirect leadership and support to Operational Staff.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management/leadership, business, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience with non-profit programming (preference on management of programs)
- Minimum of 5 years of executive leadership
- Master’s degree
- At least 5 years of experience in leading or managing non-profit programming
- Strong commitment to Metrocrest Services’ mission with experience executing on vision and strategy
- Excellent leadership skills, including humility, superior communication (verbal and written), integrity, accountability, flexibility, collaboration, respect, and empathy
- Ability to promote collaboration and coordination across programs, services, and departments; enable communication of the organizational vision and continued advancement of programs, staff, and community partners, driving development of strategic goals
- Expertise and ability to guide programs and services using a non-profit framework and an equity lens to inform current and future programs, services, and informational resources
- Creative - Ability to produce new concepts, ideas, and innovative solutions
- Commitment to transformational impact for the communities Metrocrest Services supports.
- Critical Thinking – Ability to analyze and evaluate an issue in order to form a judgment
- Strong initiative and motivation, with the ability to excel in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Ability to evaluate the strengths of direct reports and provide appropriate development
