Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health – Job Type: PRN

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
• Assesses the patient and plans care within set time frames and documents findings according to policies
• Oversees and supervises the shift
• Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
• Oversees staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team
• Monitors patient for change of condition and responds accordingly, up to and including notification of the physician
• Follows hospital policy for medication administration
• Consistently uses empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
• Delivers quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies
• Assists or performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred; experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
