HVAC Technician

Performs HVAC inspections, services, and installation work in residential and commercial properties.
Responsibilities- Read and understand all job and safety requirements.
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for both residential and commercial customers.
- Diagnose and repair electronic and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
- Verify equipment efficiency and maintain cleanliness of all equipment.
- Work safely in presence of compressed gases as defined in Safety Data Sheets.
- Accurately and promptly perform related calculations; complete required reports and forms.
- Travel to job sites in service area and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedule.
- Be available to work nights or weekends on a rotating basis as scheduled.
- Maintain company vehicle in good working order, refuel, wash, and report mechanical issues; report inspection tag expiration.
- Maintain proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment; provide own tools except for issued equipment.
- Understand company pricing, generate customer invoices, obtain signatures, and collect payments when required.
- Participate in company‑provided training opportunities.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent;
Business, Trade, or Professional School preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting HVAC systems (preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and components.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional and technical material.
- Strong written communication skills for reports and correspondence.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure.
- Problem‑solving ability in variable situations; interpret written and oral instructions.
- Basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets (helpful but not required).
- Ability to work independently and ensure job is completed correctly the first time.
- Professional appearance, attitude, and communication with customers and builders.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record; EPA certification or willingness to become certified; NATE certification is a plus.
- Pass drug and alcohol test.
- Work while wearing required safety equipment regardless of weather.
- Stand for extended periods; use hands to handle tools; talk, hear, and smell.
- Walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist to fit or reach.
- Climb ladders and stairs up to 20 feet high.
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Work in confined spaces as defined by OSHA.
- Work in all seasonal conditions, inside and outside.
The work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
TransportationTechnicians will be given company vehicle; must maintain it and keep it clean, report any mechanical issues, and use it for job assignments. Technicians also must have a cell phone and keep it on them while on duty.
Job AssignmentsReady to accept assignments at any time, attending monthly safety meetings and calling office after each service call.
