Field Service Technician I

Ener Sys is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Technician I to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide on-site service, maintenance, and repair for our Energy Systems solutions, supporting customers in telecommunications, data centers, emergency power, and more, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switch gear, and critical equipment.

• Shadow experienced technicians on service calls to gain hands‑on experience.
• Perform basic equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and installation of equipment at customer sites.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring timely, efficient, and professional service.
• Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure satisfaction.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO
  9000 standards.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions, and complete required reports.
• Manage company assets, including service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.

• Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude; foundational electrical knowledge (70% passing score required on aptitude exam).
• Availability to work non‑standard hours in a 24/7 work week.
• Physical ability to lift 75 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for insurability.
• Desirable: familiarity with electrical systems and schematics.

The position requires driving a company vehicle and maintaining an acceptable driving record. Candidates must be able to differentiate colors and be on‑call as needed. The role involves exposure to electrical shock, lead/fiberglass products, and other hazardous materials; periodic blood tests may be required to measure lead levels. Working conditions may involve a plant/warehouse environment with varying conditions.
