POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide intermediate level maintenance of plant equipment including mixers, pumps, conveyors, motors, bearings, gear boxes, hydraulic systems, and maintenance welding. O bserv e all safety regulations and ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met, to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSO rganize and prioritize scheduled/unscheduled repairs and PM’s . Ensure parts and materials are on hand to complete the tasks and assign the work to individuals. Must also be able to perform “hands on” repairs and adjustments as needed . Co nsistently carry out a ll the essential functions required of Maintenance Mechanic I , i n addition to the demonstrated ability to :
- Understand anddemonstrateintermediate level mechanical andelectricalskills.
- Locatesourceof problems byobservingmechanical devices in operation.
Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics. - Basic knowledge ofPLC systems is required.
- Perform PM duties andmaintainthe required documentationwithinCMMSprogram.
- Understand anddemonstratethe operation of industrial machinery and technical equipment.
- Communicate with the production team andescalatecritical downtime in accordance withthe escalation procedure.
- Maintain electrical,pneumaticshydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industryworkshopsand technical reading.
- Lift and move heavy equipment.
- Uses all general hand, power, and shop tools.
- Good maintenance shop skillsneededfor repairing a variety of equipment types.
- Inspect work and work area, perform clean-up using proper tools and equipment.
- Perform general carpentry, plumbing,masonry and scheduled maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Assistall visitors, trades and contractors with repairs, replacements, modifications to equipment, machinery, wiring, pipingas directed.
- At the end of theshiftsecure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.
Keep the work area clean and orderly. - Complete all other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Haveintermediateknowledgeinmechanical and electrical.
- Demonstrate both an ability and the desire to learn the skills necessary for further advancement.
- Understand anddemonstrateintermediatemaintenance safety.
- Be able touse hand tools properly & safely.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints.
- Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Internal Candidates:
Must have at least 1 year as a Maintenance Mechanic I.Ingood standing; no disciplinary actions above verbal level. - External Candidates:
Must have at least2yearsverifiable experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - Willingness to work any shift.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working inan industrial environment.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Authorized to work in the United States
