Compensation$40.00 - $60.00 per hour
Pay is determined by experience, technical ability, certifications, and overall job performance.

The Chiller Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and mechanical systems, including:
- Air-cooled chillers
- Water-cooled chillers
- Cooling towers
- Boilers
- Pumps
- Air handling equipment
- Split systems and packaged rooftop units
- Evaluate equipment conditions and provide recommendations regarding repairs or equipment replacement
- Research and identify replacement components and manufacturer-approved repair procedures
- Explain technical findings, repair options, and recommendations to customers in a professional manner
- Participate in the company's rotating emergency on-call program
- Keep assigned vehicle, tools, and parts inventory clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Complete accurate service records using company software, including:
- Labor and time entries
- Service and repair details
- Equipment information
- Customer approvals and signatures
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch, service coordination staff, and management
- Utilize mobile devices and computer-based systems for reporting, documentation, and job tracking
Reports Directly To: Service Manager
Required Qualifications- At least 3-5 years of hands-on chiller service experience with professional references available upon request
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and diagnostic procedures
- Demonstrated ability to determine when equipment should be repaired versus replaced
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and provide leadership when situations require it
- Universal EPA Certification is mandatory
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations as needed
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Capable of working independently and managing service calls with limited supervision
- Strong written communication and documentation skills required
