Lead Low Voltage Cable Technician - Dallas, TX Next Level Technician is seeking an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician to support commercial low-voltage projects throughout the Dallas area. Pay is based on experience, $25-$30 per hour. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong experience in structured cabling, low-voltage systems, security, and related technologies who can lead field installations and work independently with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of low-voltage experience and be comfortable installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and leading crews on commercial projects.
- Lead and perform commercial low-voltage installations
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and other structured cabling
- Work with access control, CCTV, security, data, and other low-voltage systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings
- Lead technicians and provide hands-on guidance in the field
- Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality standards
- Troubleshoot cabling and low-voltage system issues
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and field teams
- Track project progress and communicate jobsite updates
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
- Complete projects efficiently while meeting deadlines
- 5+ years of commercial low-voltage experience
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage systems
- Experience installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling
- Ability to test and troubleshoot cabling and low-voltage systems
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Previous experience leading crews or serving as a Lead Technician
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable transportation and standard technician tools
- Experience Access control and CCTV/security systems
- Fiber optic installation and testing
- Commercial construction environments
- Cable tray, pathways, and rack installations
- Experience with Fluke or other cable testers
- OSHA 10/30, lift, BICSI, or other relevant certifications
- $25-$30/hour, based on experience and skill level
- Weekly pay
