About Liquid StackAbout Liquid Stack & the Team Liquid Stack is the established leader in liquid cooling for data center, HPC, and AI workloads, with manufacturing, R&D, and headquarters in Carrollton, Texas and a longstanding engineering presence in Hong Kong. As part of Trane Technologies, we are scaling our US-based engineering capability to augment our Hong Kong team. The new Texas engineering team will focus on the design, development, and delivery of large Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and skidded direct-to-chip platforms - including our Giga Modular™ CDU family - for hyperscale, colocation, and AI infrastructure customers.
The team will own manufacturability, ETL / CSA / CE / NRTL compliance, and customer-facing engineering for these product families, working in close collaboration with the Hong Kong team on shared architecture and component engineering. The PLC team owns the controls software and HMI for skidded CDUs - including resilient management control for the Giga Modular™ family - covering PLC programming, BMS integration, and customer-visible control behavior.
Senior individual contributor and technical authority on PLC controls.
Additional Responsibilities- Own controls software architecture across the CDU portfolio.
- Establish coding standards, library structures, and review practices.
- Lead customer-facing controls discussions and BMS integration design.
- Mentor the PLC Engineer.
- Develop, test, and maintain PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) for CDU and skidded platforms.
- Design HMI screens and operator interfaces.
- Implement industry-standard communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus TCP/RTU, SNMP, Redfish.
- Integrate with customer Building Management Systems (BMS) and data center management platforms.
- Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and field commissioning.
- Maintain version control, change history, and release notes for controls software.
- Collaborate with the Hong Kong controls team on shared code libraries and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related.
- 10+ years of industrial PLC programming experience.
- Expert with at least one major platform (Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar).
- Strong HMI design experience (Factory Talk, WinCC, Ignition, or equivalent).
- Deep familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and data center BMS integration patterns.
