Description

We are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist who brings meticulous accuracy to the position, and who has exceptional math and observation skills. The role involves working closely with management, developing and improving existing procedures and policies, preventing losses, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, and performing daily/weekly/monthly counts of all products. Responsibilities also include receiving items into the company’s ERP software, identifying, and resolving process issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees the storage and warehousing of materials, actively leading and executing cycle counts with the supervisor. Plans layout and utilization of warehouse space, considering inventory turnover, size, weight, and related factors.
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions.
  • Supports cost reduction initiatives, analyzes data in JDE, and generates reports on inventory.
  • Reviews records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures, determines adequate stock levels, and recommends remedial actions for non‑usable, slow‑moving, and excess stock.
  • Researches and analyzes root causes of inventory discrepancies, collaborates with cross‑functional teams, and recommends corrective and preventative actions.
  • Partner with the Supervisor and team to implement and sustain improvements.
  • Learn and become proficient with the company’s ERP software (JDE 9.2) to perform daily system transactions.
  • Learn and become proficient in all warehouse functions, including RMA receiving, PO receiving, Transfer Order fulfillment, Sales Order fulfillment, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot RMA and PO receiving discrepancies and execute decisions on correct resolution methods.
  • Verify and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Follow and execute all procedures and policies.
  • Support and maintain 5S activities in the work area.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of the warehouse.
  • Adhere to all OSHA requirements (training will be provided).
  • Operate non‑motorized and motorized material handling equipment (training can be provided).
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity goals and quality standards relative to job responsibilities as outlined by the manager.
  • Contribute to a team that coordinates work efforts to complete departmental and overall operational goals.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education Level:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Skills and

Competencies:

  • 2–5 years of Cycle Count / Inventory Control experience, including full‑cycle responsibility from cycle count generation through cycle count closure and completion of CAPA activities.
  • Strong computer skills in the use of database systems, Excel Pivot Tables, look‑ups, Microsoft Office, and basic computer operating systems.
  • Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication.
  • Advanced data analysis and data visualization skills.
  • Understanding of the supply chain, common obstacles, and effective solutions.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and manipulate, analyze, and visualize data.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision‑making skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under continual deadline pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a proven ability to succeed in cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensuring that quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.
  • Data entry, time management, critical thinking, and leadership.
  • Ability to learn company ERP software application, knowledge of JDE/OFSC a plus.
  • Highly self‑motivated with keen attention to detail.
  • Exercises diligence in completing work activities with the willingness to work extra hours if needed.
