Temp-to-Hire Starting Pay: $18.50/hour (higher pay may be considered based on experience)
Position Summary The Inventory Control Specialist reports to the Inventory Control Manager and plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the warehouse operation. This position is responsible for assisting with inventory investigations, audits, cycle counts, rack verifications, and spot-checking inventory accuracy. The Inventory Control Specialist will identify discrepancies, support corrective actions, maintain records, and perform data entry and administrative duties as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Promote and contribute to a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and reporting safety concerns immediately.
Count, audit, and verify inventory accuracy.
Count pallets accurately and efficiently.
Perform cycle counts and rack verification counts.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and help determine corrective actions.
Audit warehouse processes related to inventory accuracy.
Enter inventory counts and maintain accurate records within the inventory control system.
Report discrepancies to the Inventory Control Manager and assist operations leadership in resolving inventory issues.
Ensure all required inventory and audit documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Assist with administrative and recordkeeping responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Required Minimum 1-2 years of Inventory Control experience in a distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environment required; 3+ years preferred.
Experience performing cycle counts and inventory audits.
Ability to count pallets accurately.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Strong attendance and punctuality record.
Basic computer proficiency and experience working within inventory or warehouse management systems preferred.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules as needed.
Education High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Willingness to learn and support various warehouse functions.
Schedule Monday-Friday, generally 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
Peak season (typically Thanksgiving through Christmas) requires mandatory overtime, extended hours, additional shifts, and potential 7-day work schedules.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors.
Frequent bending, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, and repetitive motions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
