Anticipated start date:
August 3, 2026. Full‑time, FLSA non‑exempt position with the Carson City Justice/Municipal Court.
Under general supervision, attends court sessions and assists the Court Operations Supervisor with assigning, directing and reviewing the work of other court support staff; provides difficult, complex, technical, specialized and/or confidential legal office support to court offices.
Benefits- Employer‑Paid PERS Retirement: $33.2982 - 46.6175 hourly / $69,260. annually
- Employee/Employer‑Paid PERS Retirement: $40.1705 - 56.2386 hourly / $83,554. annually

Examples of Duties- Attend court, administer oaths, swear in juries and witnesses, maintain audio, video and manual records, prepare minute orders, and process court follow‑up.
- Assist the Court Operations Supervisor in providing direction, training, and review of office support staff. Organize and assign work, set priorities, and follow‑up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work.
- Provide input into selection, evaluation, disciplinary and other personnel matters; may counsel employees as required.
- Perform difficult, complex, technical, and/or specialized confidential court support work requiring independent judgment and application of technical skills.
- Compile data from multiple sources to complete and process legal forms, documents, and reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Type correspondence, reports, forms and specialized documents from drafts, notes, court recording system or brief instructions, and compose standard correspondence from brief instructions. Enter and retrieve information from a computer system.
- Receive and process fees, fines or other monies; prepare receipts and balance money received.
- Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team.
- Use standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work.
- Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with the public, court and city staff; act in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience providing office support to a court or legal office or similar environment requiring the use of legal terminology and processing of legal documents; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by Human Resources.
