Job Summary
Western Nevada College (WNC) is recruiting an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Department of Continuing Education. The role interacts with the public, prospective and current students, and instructors to support the creation and execution of non‑credit classes. Responsibilities include using a cloud‑based education management system, generating course rosters, coordinating classroom setup, tracking course data, and distributing completion certificates and materials.
Responsibilities- Interact with the public, students, and instructors regarding non‑credit classes.
- Use the cloud‑based education management system to generate course rosters, classroom schedules, and course data reports.
- Coordinate classroom setup and ensure all logistical needs are met.
- Track and communicate course data and distribute completion certificates and materials.
- Make purchases on behalf of the Continuing Education Department.
- Complete marketing and public‑relations tasks, including collaborating with WNC’s Marketing Department to promote offerings and updating Continuing Education webpages.
- High school graduation or equivalent education.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in areas such as: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents; or assisting staff and management with projects.
- Alternatively, one year as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- Experience with People Soft, OnBase, or Workday programs.
Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m.–5:00p.m.; schedule may change based on organizational needs.
CompensationGrade
27; salary determined by step based on Nevada Administrative Code and recruitment qualifications. Initial appointment may place above Step
