Job Description
We are actively seeking experienced Cost Estimators to play a key role in preparing, analyzing, and validating cost estimates for Federal construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to both vertical and horizontal construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Federal standards, and alignment with project goals.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed and project-specific cost estimates utilizing industry-standard tools such as MII (MCACES II), PACES, RSMeans, and Success Estimator.
- Analyze contractor cost proposals, bids, and change orders to ensure accuracy and adherence to FAR, DFARS, Davis-Bacon, and Federal regulations.
- Interpret and quantify design documents to generate cost estimates throughout various project stages.
- Utilize Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and relevant codes to produce compliant and practical cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain pricing databases to enhance estimating accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contracting officers to ensure alignment of cost estimates with project scopes and requirements.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering and evaluate alternative methods or materials.
- Prepare comprehensive cost analyses and justifications for government review.
- Assess risks and contingency needs based on project complexity and market conditions.
- Contribute to budget development and independent government estimates (IGEs).
- Engage in pre‑bid meetings and design reviews to support project improvement efforts.
- Ensure adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in cost estimating required.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to pass federal background checks.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required, contingent on project demands.
- Experience with large Federal construction quality programs.
- Certifications such as Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Certified Cost Consultant (CCC), or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) are a plus.
This position will require 100% fieldwork at various project locations within the United States.
