SummaryThe teacher will implement into daily instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on the Nevada State Standards. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals. The teacher will serve as teacher of record for students with disabilities. This person will be expected to adhere to the Nevada Educator Performance Framework (NEPF) and report directly to the school site administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Administer appropriate district curriculum, which is aligned with the Nevada State Standards.
- Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment.
- Develop and implement the components of an effective lesson for instruction.
- Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
- Provide a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety at all times.
- Ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed at all times.
- Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
- Work professionally with administration, staff, parents, and community.
- May need to assist students with toileting, personal hygiene and life skills.
- Integrate technology into the instructional program.
- Implement scientifically‑based instruction, including Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), to support the unique academic, social, and behavioral needs of students as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and act as teacher of record of Individualized Education Plans for students with disabilities.
- Develop and regularly report progress on IEP goals reflective of each student’s individual present levels of performance and achievement.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local mandates and timelines in special education.
- Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans as identified by student need.
- Utilize positive behavioral supports and conduct functional behavioral analyses as appropriate.
- Ensure that students with disabilities are receiving a free appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
- Assist students with disabilities in regular education classrooms.
- Participate in other job‑related duties and activities related to the position as assigned.
- Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
- Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
- Keep attendance records.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, site initiatives and teacher training workshops.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.
- Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students.
- Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
- Work in a collegial manner with all district staff to provide students an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
- Maintain and improve professional competence.

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree from four‑year college or university.
