Job Title
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Special Education Teacher – Extended School Year

HoursTuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Extended School Year)
Session DatesJune 16, 2026 – July 23, 2026 (Week of July 6th off)
SalaryLicensed contracted staff will receive the certified hourly rate of pay.
NotePosition is strictly contingent upon sufficient funding and student enrollment.
SummaryThe teacher will implement the Nevada State Standards curriculum and adapted instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, serve as teacher of record, and collaborate with the IEP team to support student learning within the district’s educational environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Administer appropriate district curriculum aligned with Nevada State Standards for DHH students.
- Ensure opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
- Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition.
- Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
- Provide a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety.
- Ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed.
- Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
- Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
- Integrate technology into the instructional program and utilize the student information system as required.
- Implement and act as teacher of record for Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
- Participate in other job‑related duties and activities as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.
- Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members.
- Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals for DHH students.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with objectives.
- Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and policy.
- Maintain and improve professional competence.
- Communicate effectively both written and orally.
- Schedule DHH staff on a daily basis based on student needs and staff availability.
- Direct the interpreter specialist’s work.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by principal.
