Position: Jump Start College Cohort Coach (Carson City)
Position Summary
Part‑time, temporary/seasonal Jump Start Cohort Coach. The position is located in the Carson City area and is subject to a criminal history check.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree or one year of related job experience.Ability to exercise a high level of responsibility, initiative, and function as a liaison between students, instructors, high‑school affiliates, and college administrators.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.Duties & Responsibilities
Provide guidance and support to the Jump Start cohort, helping students navigate the program and succeed academically.Maintain ongoing contact with the Coordinator of Dual Enrollment, who supports and supervises the position.Assist with application and enrollment steps for prospective students, including planning and implementing student/parent information nights, Accuplacer testing, orientation, and course registration.Provide pre‑semester check‑ins to prepare students for fall classes and program participation.Meet with students one‑on‑one or in groups to discuss academic progress, study skills, time management, and college readiness.Work with the college and high school to identify and facilitate student access to resources and strategies that promote success.Report students’ uploaded grades from Canvas to the Coordinator of Dual Enrollment and high‑school affiliates.Understand and enforce program policies and procedures.Participate in all Jump Start Cohort Coach meetings and trainings.Communicate regularly with high‑school counselors, staff, and instructors regarding concerns, policies, schedules, facility use, internet access, and other relevant information.Complete other duties assigned by the Coordinator of Dual Enrollment.EEO Statement
