Job Description
The Child Development Center is recruiting for a student employee(s) Teacher’s Aide. The role involves supporting the head teacher in delivering curriculum‑based activities to children, including singing, reading stories, and other language arts. The aide will also assist with a range of developmentally appropriate activities throughout the school day.
Responsibilities- Organize and facilitate activities with children in accordance with the curriculum.
- Assist with singing, reading stories, and other language arts.
- Support developmentally appropriate activities spanning the day.
- Clean and organize the classroom environment.
- Interact with children during spontaneous reading, word play, navigation and problem‑solving social interactions.
- Assist with conflict resolution and maintain the safety of the environment.
- Required: TB test upon hire.
- Complete initial training within 90 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, Symptoms of Illness, Child Abuse and Neglect, SIDS, etc.
- Preferred: Early Childhood Education (ECE) degree; classes in early childhood preferred.
- Experience in child care preferred.
- Fall & Spring Semester:
Enrolled in at least 6 credits each regular semester, in a degree‑seeking program, and meet academic progress requirements (≥67% completion rate, ≥67% cumulative, GPA ≥2.0). Must not exceed 90 credits or hold two degrees. Authorised to work in the United States. - Summer:
Eligible if enrolled in at least 6 summer credits or successfully completed the spring semester plus 6 fall credits (summer enrollment not required), with the same academic progress requirements and U.S. work authorization. - Continued employment is contingent on maintaining eligibility; changes may result in termination or temporary suspension.
- Student Employee – Level 1: $12–$15 per hour.
- Full‑time equivalency: 50%–20 hours per week.
- Hours may vary based on organizational needs.
- Students may not work during scheduled course times or exceed 20 hours per week during academic periods; may not exceed 28 hours per week during break periods.
