Job Overview

Part‑time, temporary/seasonal Academic Coach position in the Learning Resources and Support mission to empower students through coaching.

• Provides academic coaching in group or individual settings, including online tutoring.
• Assists in developing and presenting workshops and resources.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
• Adheres to FERPA and National Tutoring Association Code of ethics.
• Conducts library tours, provides first‑line research assistance, and assists patrons with basic computer skills.
• Handles circulation functions, answers phones, re‑shelves materials, and performs sweeps of the library.
• Takes requests for inter‑library loans, assists with copies, handles cash accurately, and performs occasional data entry tasks.
• Assists with department projects.

• One year of college education and a grade of B or better in the subject area at the level of tutoring.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse users, colleagues, and faculty; effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Customer service focus and strong work ethic.
• Fluency in Spanish is a strength.

• Reports inappropriate student behavior to LRS staff.
• Promotes independent learning and directs patrons to appropriate resources.

• Models appropriate behaviors that support the department vision.
• Models effective learning and study strategies.
• Willingness to contribute in a team environment.
• Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with students in tutoring situations.

$13 per hour. Exempt. Full‑time equivalent 48.8%.
