LOCATION:
Bordewich/Bray Elementary School
LICENSE: 3-21 Years Hearing Impaired Endorsement, TESL preferred.
OPEN TO:
Current Carson City School District full-time contracted and licensed employees only.

NUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 1 Teacher needed.
HOURS PER DAY:
Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
SESSION DATES:
June 16, 2026, through July 23, 2026, with the week of July 6th off.
NOTE:
Position is strictly contingent upon sufficient funding and student enrollment.
SALARY:
Licensed contracted staff will receive the certified hourly rate of pay.

Position Summary:
The teacher will implement into daily instruction appropriate educational curriculum based on the Nevada State Standards and approved district curriculum into daily student instruction. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals. The teacher will serve as teacher of record for students with disabilities. This person will be expected to adhere to the Nevada Educational Performance Standards for Licensed Employees and report directly to the principal and/or the Director of Student Support Services.

* Administer appropriate district curriculum which is aligned with the Nevada State Standards, as it relates to deaf and hard of hearing students.
* Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment.
* Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment.
* Analyze student progress and provide appropriate instruction.
* Provide a classroom management/discipline plan ensuring safety at all times.
* Ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed at all times.
* Develop a classroom climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
* Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
* Integrate technology into the instructional program and utilize the student information system as required.
* Implement and act as teacher of record of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities.
* Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position as assigned.
Position Expectations:
* Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.
* Work cooperatively with students, parents, peers, administration, and community members.
* Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals, as it relates to deaf and hard of hearing students.
* Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
* Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students.
* Participate as an active member with other faculty and staff.
* Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
* Maintain and improve professional competence.
* Communicate effectively both written and orally.
* Schedule DHH staff on a daily basis dependent upon student needs and staff availability.
* Direct the work of the interpreter specialist.
* Perform other job-related duties as assigned by principal.
