Part-time Instructor, Automotive Mechanics

Job Description

This position is part‑time, temporary/seasonal and is filled from an ongoing applicant pool. The instructor will teach automotive technology courses, prepare instructional materials, and maintain student records during the contract period.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution in Automotive Technology or a related field, or a combination of education and professional experience;
• Minimum of one year of mechanic experience in an automotive or related field.

• Automotive Service Excellence professional level certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire;
• Experience teaching in a community college setting.

• Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period.
• Prepare course syllabi, outlines, and related instructional materials.
• Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
• Administer student evaluations.
• Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested.
• Participate in student retention activities as requested.
• Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC.
