Position: Work Study Student Employee - Liberal Arts & Sciences Department

Job Description

The Liberal Arts and Sciences Division is recruiting a student employee to work the front counter and represent the Liberal Arts team. The position requires reliable attendance and the ability to work in a sometimes fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Staff the front desk and assist students and instructors professionally.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets and tracking for various projects.
  • Stock and inventory.
  • Answer multiple phone lines, emails, and departmental mail.
  • Assist with other office duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Good communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to answer phones, make calls, and answer questions.
  • Self‑motivation, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work well with others.
Student Employment Eligibility

Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester, participation in a degree‑seeking program, and meeting all satisfactory academic progress requirements (67% completion rate in last enrolled semester, 67% cumulative, 2.0 GPA, no more than 90 credits, no multiple degrees, etc.). Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Work Study

Position requires Work Study funds. Work Study is determined via FAFSA and is part of your financial aid package.

Compensation

Student Employee – Level1: $12–$15 per hour.

Schedule
  • 20 hours per week during the regular semester.
  • During holiday break, summer, etc. Full‑time equivalency 50% – 20 hours per week.
  • Students may not work during scheduled course times.
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week during academic periods (Sun–Sat). During break periods, students may not work more than 28 hours per week (Sun–Sat).
Additional Information

Students must meet Work Study and employment eligibility requirements. Continued employment is contingent on maintaining eligibility.
