Client is seeking a highly motivated and innovative R&D Engineer to join its advanced technology team. This role focuses on the development of next-generation aerospace fastening systems and advanced assembly solutions, including adhesive bonding, laser-based joining, robotic automation, and integrated assembly technologies.

This position is a true front-end R&D and design role, not manufacturing, tooling, or process engineering. Engineers must be capable of operating independently, owning early-stage design challenges, and contributing immediately with minimal ramp-up.

• Research & Innovation
• Lead R&D initiatives in fastener design, adhesive bonding, laser joining, and robotic assembly
• Investigate emerging technologies and materials to improve performance and manufacturability
• Conduct feasibility studies and material evaluations
• Participate in weekly innovation forums and collaborative engineering discussions
• Design & Development
• Develop prototypes and validate designs using CAD, FEA, and simulation tools
• Design new products, systems, and test procedures
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Configuration teams
• Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test protocols
• Testing & Validation
• Design and execute experiments assessing mechanical performance, durability, and environmental resistance
• Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, ASTM, SAE)
• Project Execution
• Manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, including planning, milestones, and reporting
• Interface with suppliers and customers as required
• Work independently with minimal supervision

• CAD software (Solid Works, CATIA, Creo, NX, or similar)
• FEA and simulation tools
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Engineering documentation and design control systems
