Position: Network Engineer (local candidates only)

* Carson City, NV (100% in-person, only candidates that are already local to the Reno/Carson City area will be considered; in-person interview required)

* Rate*: $85/hr (1099)

* Duration:
* March 2026 through June 2026, with the possibility of a 3 month extension.

* The State of NV wants to add a qualified and driven network engineer consultant to their IT team. The perfect applicant will develop, build, and maintain our company's network infrastructure to guarantee dependability, security, and the best performance.

Job Responsibilities:

* * Establishes and maintains network performance.

* Troubleshooting Network issues and application performance.

* Routing/switching (Cisco) installation and configuration.

* Collaborates with network architect on network optimization.

* Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.

* Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

* Network Engineer Qualifications/

Skills:

* * At least 7 years of experience as a network engineer

* Network design and implementation

* Experience in network administration

* Network troubleshooting

* Problem solving and analytical skills

* Strong documentation skills

* LAN knowledge

* Network hardware configuration

* Network performance tuning

* Bachelor's degree

* Preferred Qualifications:

* Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

* CCNA

* CCNP

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $85.00 per hour
