Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer / Rotating Equipment Field Engineer

This role focuses on evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamic analysis and delivering service solutions that address critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing machinery problems based upon vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.
  • Completing timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to the customer.
  • Building relationships with customers to provide a high level of service delivery, becoming their trusted advisor for rotating equipment health.
  • Calculating and overseeing placement of balance weights.
  • Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering is a plus).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience.
  • Be available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant overtime (paid).
  • Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or be able to obtain a passport).
  • Be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
  • Be eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
  • ISO certification for vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
  • Experience working under stressful working conditions.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Solid computer skills using MS Office software.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills. "Hands-on approach".
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints.
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
  • Knowledge of or experience with at least one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
  • Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant services.
  • Basic familiarity with computer network systems.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $79,490.00 - $.

You will be eligible to participate in Company-sponsored benefit programs, including health & welfare programs and the Thrift Plan (401k). You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level, and specific requirements of each of these plans.

You will be eligible to participate in the Baker Hughes short-term incentive plan applicable for this position. The actual payout for your short-term incentive award will be based on company and individual performance and is contingent on Baker Hughes achieving pre-determined financial results.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which can be found here, and is further eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses subject to the terms of the applicable benefit plans or policies.
