Job Description Role Overview
Join our team as a Mechanical Facilities Engineering Manager, where you ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical mechanical systems in OCI data centers. In this position, you will manage the execution of mechanical maintenance, vendor performance, and the leadership of technicians working with our cooling and HVAC infrastructure.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs, and fan walls, along with their associated controls to ensure operational uptime and adherence to Oracle standards. Your focus will be on plant operations and effective service execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Mechanical Facilities Engineering Manager, you will:
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance for critical HVAC and mechanical infrastructure.
- Ensure mechanical plant readiness with comprehensive preventive maintenance, inspections, and restoration activities.
- Act as the main technical point of contact for all mechanical systems and escalate incidents appropriately.
- Manage technicians and service vendors to uphold safety, quality, documentation, and compliance with SLAs.
- Drive prompt troubleshooting and responses to mechanical failures and conditions threatening uptime.
- Track and improve performance metrics like availability, maintenance backlog, and resolution times.
- Collaborate with engineering and commissioning teams for system upgrades and functional acceptance.
- Lead investigations into root causes of major issues and ensure effective corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for audits, including procedures and maintenance histories.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental compliance within mechanical operations.
- Coach and support technicians in enhancing their troubleshooting skills and execution consistency.
- Extensive experience leading operations in mechanical plants, HVAC servicing, or cooling maintenance in data centers or similar environments.
- In-depth knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs, and controls.
- Proven track record managing vendors and maintenance operations in a 24x7 facility.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS), SCADA, DCIM, and CMMS software.
- Preferred experience in supporting the commissioning and operational acceptance of new systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and composure during pressure situations.
- Unwavering commitment to safety and strict adherence to processes and documentation.
- Ability to communicate clearly, translating technical conditions and risks to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and discipline in planning and executing maintenance and operations.

Compensation and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this role in the US is $97,500 to $199,500 per year, with potential for bonuses and equity.
