Role Description The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Carson City, NV. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design projects from concept through production, including developing detailed designs, performing engineering analyses, and preparing technical documentation. Day-to-day tasks include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs meet safety, performance, and manufacturability requirements.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will troubleshoot design issues, support prototyping and testing, and participate in design reviews. This position also mentors junior engineers, contributes to process improvements, and supports alignment with company safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to product development.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Product Design, including developing concepts and translating requirements into robust mechanical solutions.
- Hands-on experience in Machine Design, including mechanisms, assemblies, and component selection for safe and reliable operation.
- Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and design documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience leading mechanical design projects and collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams.
- Ability to analyze and validate designs through calculations, simulations, and testing; familiarity with relevant industry standards is beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site, team-oriented environment.
