Advisor, Finance Operations (Medical Customer Rebates) at Cardinal Health, Carson City, NV.
Finance Operations contributes to Cardinal Health by overseeing accounting, tax, financial plans and policies, establishing fiscal controls, preparing and interpreting financial reports, overseeing financial systems, and safeguarding the organization’s assets. It is responsible for the oversight and overall performance of core financial processes including pricing administration, rebates, cash application, chargebacks, billing, accounts payable, and employee travel & expense.
Responsibilities- Perform monthly and quarterly tasks related to Medical Rebates and GPO Admin Fees calculation and payout transactions.
- Calculate rebates for accruals and payouts.
- Prepare audit packages and submit for approval.
- Work with offshore teams to facilitate data processing requests associated with rebate payouts.
- Provide detailed reporting for completed payouts.
- Validate GPO Admin fee data for monthly payouts.
- Own and manage any Admin Fee escalations to resolution.
- Ensure rebates and admin fees are paid timely and completely.
- Respond to inquiries regarding rebates and admin fees from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in month‑end reconciliations, ensuring accruals accurately reflect contracts and P&L impacts.
- Maintain and enhance the SOX internal control structure.
- Support current payout and reporting requests and processes.
- Collaborate with the manager on complex customer and transaction activities.
- Coordinate across the organization (Sales, Legal, Finance, Pricing, Accounting, and Contracting) to properly account for transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- 4–8 years of experience in finance, audit, or accounting (preferred).
- Strong Excel skills, including common formulas such as VLOOKUP.
- Knowledge of SAP, Vistex, legal contracts, and GAAP standards is a plus.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to varied tasks and projects.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Work on complex projects of large scope.
- Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, ensuring solutions are innovative and align with organizational objectives.
- Complete work independently with general guidance on new projects.
- Have work reviewed to meet objectives.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues when appropriate.
