The Nevada Department of Business and Industry, Financial Institutions Division is hiring for a Deputy Administrator in Las Vegas. The Deputy Administrator supports the Administrator in overseeing the Division's regulatory functions.

The Division is responsible for the licensing, examination, and regulatory supervision of depository, fiduciary, and non‑depository institutions in Nevada, and it upholds the integrity of the financial system by enforcing applicable state and federal laws. It actively monitors and adapts to emerging technologies and evolving regulatory standards to ensure effective oversight and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations and supervise a statewide team of 48 staff
  • Administer and enforce the provisions of NRS/NAC Chapters
  • Oversee licensing, examinations, investigations, and the rule making process
  • Develop policies, procedures, and agency budgets
  • Represent the Division in public forums, legislative hearings, and industry events
  • Lead initiatives in IT oversight and cryptocurrency regulation
  • Build partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies
Qualifications
  • Ethical and strategic leader with a strong background in financial institution regulation and oversight
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial institutions or regulatory oversight
  • Administration and management experience in audit, compliance, safety and soundness examinations, risk management
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, and digital assets
  • Effective conflict resolution skills, adaptability, and a high level of integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and flexibility
  • Collaborative mindset, exceptional interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn and grow
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Strategic thinking, budget development, and policy administration skills
  • Knowledge of licensing and enforcement processes
  • Understanding of regulatory framework interpretation and public speaking/legislative testimony
